1. INTRODUCTION
This document describes the procedure and method how to set the parameters of flow meter to adjust the flow values in accordance with verified error.
2. Flow Value Adjustment (Parameter: Calibration Span)
If the flow values (flow rate and flow volume) are not correct and are to be adjusted, then the setting parameter named “Calibration Span” shall be adjusted. This parameter is presented in terms of “%” and increasing the value of parameter will result in the increase of flow values (flow rate and flow volume) displayed in flow meter. Likewise, decreasing the value of parameter will result in the decrease of flow values (flow rate and flow volume) displayed in flow meter.
As the flow values displayed in the flow meter are increased or decreased, the flowmeter output (4-20mA) is equally increased or decreased along with the flow meter values.
Follow the steps below to adjust “Calibration Span”.
(1) First, the protection should be turned off
PAR. PRTECTION → PROTECTION OFF → PASSWORD: 0000
(2) Go to “Calibration Span”
OUTPUT SETUP →CALIBRATION SPAN
(3) Enter the parameter value as required. For example, if you want to increase the flow values by 10%, then enter the value increased by 10% compared to the present value.
(4) Lastly, the protection shall be turned back on
PAR. PRTECTION → PROTECTION ON
3. Check for Error of Flow Meter
The flow meter provides RAS information for error check. When the flowmeter LED is lit in green, then the flowmeter is deemed to be in normal operating condition. However, if the LED is lit in red, it implies error in flowmeter, which can be checked in detail by checking RAS information. Please follow the instruction below to check RAS information.
(1) MAINTENANCE MODE → RAS INFORMATION
(2) Please see attached page for detail of RAS information.
4. Check for Sensor
Flowmeter provides the status of the ultrasonic sensors in terms of “Peak Value of Received Signal Waveform” parameter. The manual indicates that this value is desired to be within the range from 5528 to 6758. In fact, even though the parameter values is a little out of range, the flowmeter is working without problem as long as the flowmeter LED remains in green. If you want to adjust the sensors to fit into this range, then the sensor location shall be adjusted until the sensor values
fall within this range, which requires special experience. SKWP ICE team has adjusted the sensors several times under the supervision of expert, they know how to adjust sensors if required.
The sensor status can be checked as follows.
(1) MAINTENANCE MODE → DATA DISPLAY → P/H U, P/H D (SIGNAL PEAK)
(2) The values are displayed as “P/H U” and “P/H D”. T
he values shall be within the range from 5528 to 6758 (but the values out of this range is also okay for flowmeter function as long as the flowmeter LED islit in green). If the values are deviated from this range, then maintenance shall be planned.
